In case anyone needs a translation: the girl says “It’s not at the [war] front only that trenches are dangerous.” The cartoon clearly date from some time shortly after World War I, but I’m not sure exactly what sort of a hole in the ground this is … unless it’s a fiction created so the cartoonist can tell the joke.
