The researchers suggest that their study indicates that evolution shaped the female’s orgasmic capability to be more readily triggered by men who were more desirable breeding stock.
“Women’s orgasm frequency increases with the income of their partner,” said Dr Thomas Pollet, the Newcastle University psychologist behind the research.
The results are based on interviews with about 1500 Chinese women. No attempt was made to see if the men with higher incomes had personality traits that might make it more likely their partners were satisfied.
