Regulation of Sale and Display of Sexually Explicit Material

» Prudes & Puritans

Britain is certainly not like America. Here the politician would be conservative and would be calling for the magazines to be burned or banned. (As they have by the Wal-Martians here.)

But [Tory MP Angela Watkinson] said that while the bill was “well intentioned”, she opposed its purpose to bring in a government regulator.

She added that it also did not take into account the “co-operation” by women featured in the magazines.

“They are not victims - these women are paid for their services and surely must take some responsibility for their involvement.”

Sexually explicit “lads mags” should be banished to the top shelf by law, a Labour MP has told the Commons

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Regulation of Sale and Display of Sexually Explicit Material. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
