I remember how the pastor of the hyper-fundamentalist (Southern Baptists too liberal) church I attended as a youth would denounce dancing - citing no less an authority on human sexuality than J. Edgar Hoover - as a sort of gateway ‘drug’ that lead to fornication, orgies, etc.

That attitude is alive among the 21st century’s Baptists. A young man who danced with his girlfriend at a worldly school has been forbidden to attend the prom at Heritage Christian School, his own high school.

Heritage Christian School’s principal notes:

“Should a Christian place themselves at an event where young ladies will have low-cut dresses and be dancing in them.”

And you know those low-cut dresses will lead to an eternity of damnation in Hell (“Where the Worm Dieth Not!”).
