Sex Worker Memoirs

Literary self-confession emerges as a trend among former sex workers around the world:

[Rachel] Pacheco is one of an increasing number of Brazilian prostitutes turning to literature. A contemporary from the southern state of Santa Catarina recently launched Diario de Marise (Marise’s Diary), while hundreds of blogs are springing up in towns as far apart as Belem, Recife, Manaus, Natal and Maceio. The sex workers tell the stories of their daily lives, touching on everything from discrimination to dildos, forced slavery to fellatio.

A former prostitute’s novel of life in a brothel is being filmed as other sex workers rush into print

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Sex Worker Memoirs. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
