John McCain’s daughter isn’t as self-deluded as Sarah Palin’s after-the-barndoor-closes preacher of sexual abstinence, Bristol.
“I think we need to have sex education with condoms, birth control and etc, etc.,” McCain said. “I think that if the Republican Party says abstinence only is the only way to be then we’re going to lose a lot of young voters and I think I wouldn’t want to practice anything I didn’t preach.”

She thinks the Republican Party can be “pro-sex.” That is impossible for a political party that will collapse should the support of American fundamentalists be withdrawn. The Republican Party will remain the party of puritanism and prudishness for the foreseeable future.
