Barely three months old, the main street fence containing the donated women's undergarments was dismantled by its creator, resident Tania Elliott.
"I'm very sad about it, really. It was looking really awesome, with lots of people coming into town to contribute to it and take photos, but the constant trouble over it in recent weeks left me with little option but to quell the minority opposition and just take it down," Ms Elliott said.
Publicity over the fence had divided the small community, with many residents referring to Ms Elliott as "that woman with the tacky fence."
