Lingerie Bowl vs. Janet Jackson's pastie

The producers of the Lingerie Bowl suggest that Janet Jackson’s famous moment of trivial exposure was engineered to keep TV viewers from watching the Lingerie Bowl.

Horizon Productions, Inc. produced last year’s inaugural Lingerie Bowl played on February 1, 2004 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the controversial alternative halftime broadcast was the most talked about event leading up to Super Bowl XXXVIIII. In fact, the national “BUZZ” was strong enough that the producers of the Super Bowl Halftime event (MTV) issued a statement on their website announcing that there will be a “SHOCKING MOMENT” during Super Bowl halftime. Industry insiders and several media outlets reported that this announcement was made to keep viewers from tuning over to the much talked about Lingerie Bowl. “The significant publicity and eventual impact of this past year’s inaugural Lingerie Bowl broadcast was truly remarkable and set the stage for an incredible second season, let this be a warning to the NFL that the gloves are off,” said Mitch Mortaza, Creator/Executive Producer of Lingerie Bowl

Did CBS, MTV and the NFL Stage the Janet Jackson Incident to Keep Viewers From Tuning Over to the Lingerie Bowl?
