Mom, what's a dominatrix?
» Embarrassing , » Femdom
Some parents have difficulty explaining words that appear on television.
It was not a question I had ever prepared myself for — not even in my wildest dreams.
“Mom, what’s a dominatrix?” my 11-year-old son asked innocently.
While I fumbled for an age-appropriate answer, I realized that I was not up to this challenge.
It’s a sexual jungle out there

This made me smile. I can’t imagine myself in her situation.

I’m not sure what my mother would’ve done. Probably divert me with an offer of a treat.

In my opinion I must say you gave a good and adequate answer to your son - “It’s a grown-up thing”. Which it is, and in that respect the dominatrix is just another part of adulthood, that children meet here, there and everywhere (to qoute an old song by the Beatles).
Being a parent has to do with teaching our children to navigate. We can’t ban adulthood from the daily life of our kids, but we can express our beliefs in what’s wright or wrong and our ethics - teaching them the primary tools of navigation in this somewhat chaotic predicament called life.
