India may have produced one of the best known compilations of erotic lore in the Kama Sutra but that doesn’t stop them from being foolish when buying condoms.
It has also been pointed out that though many Indian men realise that the condoms have been falling off because they are too big for them, the men are embarrassed to let this be known by asking for something smaller. As one spokesman who works with the Indian Council of Medical Research put it: “Smaller condoms are on sale in India. But there is a lack of awareness that different sizes are available. There is anxiety talking about the (size) issue. And normally one feels shy to go to a chemist shop and ask for a smaller size condom.”
