Child Porn Victims Can Sue Men Who Have Their Photos

Alan Hesketh, a former vp at Pfizer the maker of Viagra, has been sentenced to pay two hundred thousand dollars to a woman who had been photographed as a child by pornographers. Hesketh did not produce the kiddy porn; he possessed copies of the images.

The woman’s attorney says there is no distinction to be made between producers and possessors of child pornography.

Hesketh’s attorney states that the woman hasn’t proven that she is one of the women photographed as a child.

“We think this is a terrific precedent,” Allen said. “The photos stay out there forever. Every time they are downloaded, every time they are distributed, the victim in that image is revictimized.”

This will enable subjects of child pornographers to continually sue people who are found to have copies of images of them. And if you are found to have such pornography on your computer you may find yourself sued by many, many victims.

And there’s nothing to stop grown women from claiming that a child in a photograph is of them.
